London, a dream come true

I still remember the moment when I fell in love with this city, without ever having been there.Dreaming with walking in the streets and telling myself… that’s the place where I want to live.

The time has passed and my plans changed a little, but my interest for it is the same.

I had the opportunity to commence 2017 in the wonderful city (with the best company). Everything started taking a Vueling flight from The Netherlands to London Luton Airport. To be honest, this was the best christmas gift I’ve ever got. Thank you J.

The airport is 56km away from the centre of London, so after we arrived, we took a Green Line 757 bus to London Victoria Station. You can find more bus companies like: Easy Bus, Terravision and National Express.

From the station we went to Stratford District, where is the Ibis Hotel where we stayed is.

For the underground, you can buy a regular ticket. But we decided to get a Oyster card, a good option for travelers. This card can be used in all the public transportation methods in London. The price of the card will depend of the amount of days you need it and the zones that you will travel in. You can use it as often as you want until the subscription expires.

When you will leave London, you can return the card and get a refund. The public transportation service is very efficient and the costumer service is kind and able to help you whenever you need it. In all the stations they have free maps with the lines and zones of the underground.

Aún recuerdo el momento cuando me enamoré de esta ciudad sin siquiera haberla visitado, cuando soñaba con caminar sus calles, cuando me dije a mi mismo que es sería el lugar donde algún día viviera.

Ha pasado un tiempo desde aquella vez y mis planes han cambiado un poco, pero mi interés por este lugar sigue aún vivo.

Tuve la oportunidad de recibir el 2017 en esta maravillosa ciudad (con la mejor compañía). Todo inició tomando un vuelo de Vueling desde Holanda hasta el aeropuerto Luton de Londres. Siendo honesto, este ha sido uno de los mejores regalos de navidad que he recibido. Muchas Gracias J.

El aeropuerto está a 56 km del centro de Londres, así que una vez que arribamos, tomamos un autobús de la compañía Green Line ruta 757 hasta la estación Victoria de Londres. Existen otras líneas de autobuses de las que pueden elegir, como: Easy Bus, Terravision y National Express.

Desde la estación Victoria del underground debíamos llegar hasta el distrito de Stratford, donde nos hospedamos en el Hotel Ibis.

Para el underground puedes comprar un tiquete regular, pero nosotros optamos por una tarjeta Oyster para viajeros que puede ser usa en todo el transporte público de la ciudad. El costo de la tarjeta depende de la cantidad de días y zonas a las que vayas a viajar. Puedes utilizarla cuantas veces desees hasta la fecha de expiración del crédito. Cuando vayas a dejar Londres puedes devolver la tarjeta y recibir un crédito a cambio en efectivo. El servicio de transporte público es bastante eficiente y el personal muy amable y con gusto de ayudar, en todas las estaciones tienen mapas gratuitos de las líneas y zonas del underground.

Let’s talk about the atractions. I advice you to buy all the tickets online. It’s cheap, easy and you don’t have to wait in long lines. It’s the best way. There are a lot of places to visit. We chose the Sea Life London Aquarium, the Madame Taussauds museum and of course The London Eye. Furthermore, we went to the British Museum, the Natural History Museum where, by the way, I saw a real mummy for the very first time in my life. All the museums are free. Take your time to see all the exhibitions.

We loved the Buckingham Palace, the Big Ben Tower, the Tower Bridge and the famous Piccadilly Circus. These places are beautiful to make pictures by day and by night.

London is a dream comimg true and to be honest, I feel even more in love with it. But, the same as Amsterdam, I have so much more to see of London.

En cuanto a las atracciones, te recomiendo comprar las entradas por internet; es rápido, sencillo y evitas hacer largas filas, pero lo más importante es que la mayoría de las veces es más económico. Hay muchos lugares que visitar. Nosotros escogimos ir al Acuario Sea Life de Londres, el museo de cera de Madame Taussauds y, por su puesto, visitamos el London Eye, además el Museo Británico y el Museo de Historia Natural, en el que por cierto vi una momia real por primera vez en mi vida. Las entradas a los museos son gratuitos. Tómate todo un día para observar todas las exhibiciones.

Nos encanto visitar el Palacio de Buckingham, La Torre del Big Ben, Tower Bridge y el famoso Piccadily Circus, estos son hermosos para hacer fotografías tanto de noche como de día.

Londres es un sueño hecho realidad y a decir verdad quedé aún más enamorado de ella, pero al igual que Amsterdam, tengo mucho Londres que recorrer. Hasta pronto Londres.
